How to Setup BlackBerry Business Cloud Service (BBCS) for Office 365 Account and Activate

BlackBerry Business Cloud Service (BBCS) for Office 365 - Activation Procedures
 
 
1.  Enable BBCS for the user in the Microsoft Online Portal.
 
a.  Login to Microsoft Online (https://login.microsoftonline.com) with the global administrator account using Internet Explorer.
 
b.  Click on Service Settings.
 
c.  Click on Mobile.
 
d.  Under BlackBerry Business Cloud Services, click on Manage.
 
e.  Select option to create a new user in the BBCS console.
 
f.  Search for the Exchange user by display name or email address, or click the search button to view all users on the domain.
 
g.  Select the user from the list and click Continue.
 
h.  Set the activation password and click Create User.
 
i.  Confirmation will appear that the user has been created.  If device is to use BES, proceed to Step 2.  If device is to use BIS, proceed to Step 3.
 
j.  The user will receive an email message with activation instructions and the activation password.
 
2.  Activate BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) - Wireless activation of a device has been provisioned with the BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) data plan.  If the device has a BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) data plan, skip to Step 3
 
a.  On the device, go to the enterprise activation screen:
 
(1)  For devices running BB OS 6.0 and newer, go to Options > Device > Advanced System Settings > Enterprise Activation.
 
(2)  For devices running BB OS 5.0 and older, go to Options > Advanced Options > Enterprise Activation.
 
b.  Enter the user's email address and the activation password obtained in Step 1j.
 
c.  Click on the Activate button or press the menu key and click on Activate.
 
d.  The device will negotiate a connection, generate an encryption key, send service books, and begin to synchronize mailbox data.  Total synchronization time will vary, based on the amount and type of data.  Calendar and contact data synchronizes at a lower rate than does messages.
 
e.  When the message activation is complete appears, the process has completed.
 
f.  If a user sees this notification "Some Databases failed to synchronize Address book", it means that some contact records did not synchronize to the device.  The most common causes are either a contact in Outlook is missing the first name, last name, or company name or a contact has invalid characters that the BlackBerry is unable to recognize, such as ( ) # $ @ ! & % " - , ^ " ; 'The device will not indicate the individual contact records that cannot be synchronized.  The user will need to review the address book in Outlook or Outlook Web Access and make the necessary corrections.  Once this has been done, those contacts should automatically synchronize to the device.
 
3.  Activate BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) - Wireless activation of a device that has been provisioned with the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) data plan.
 
a.  Launch BlackBerry App World on the device.  Note that if not done previously, the user will be required to login to the App World using their BIS credentials.  If not known, please obtain from the wireless provider.
 
b.  After logging in, search for the Enterprise Activation App by clicking on the magnifying glass.
 
c.  Search for Enterprise Activation.
 
d.  Select the search result and download the app.
 
e.  Enter the user's email address and activation password obtained in Step 1j and click activate.
 
f.  The device will negotiate a connection, generate an encryption key, send service books, and begin to synchronize mailbox data.  Total synchronization time will vary, based on the amount and type of data.  Calendar and contact data synchronizes at a lower rate than does messages.
