How to Configure Office 365 POP for Android Devices

This procedure is applicable for many Android devices running Android 4.4 or higher.  Screenshots were taken from a Google Nexus 4.  Other devices will be similar.


To configure Office 365 POP on an Android device, perform the following:



1.  From the home screen, tap the App drawer > Settings > Accounts > Add Account.


Note:  Certain Android devices require a POP or IMAP account be added through the Email application. 

  • If this is the first account, proceed to Step 3.

  • If this is not the first account, select Settings > Accounts > Add Account.  Enter the requested credentials and choose Manual Setup.


2.  Tap POP3.


3.  Enter the email address and tap Next.


4.  Enter the password and tap Next.


5.  The device will attempt to retrieve the account settings automatically.  On the Account setup page, tap POP3.


6.  Enter the Incoming settings for the account and tap Next.


User Name:  email address

Password:  email password


Port:  995

Security Type:  SSL (SSL/TLS or SSL Accept All Certificates)

Delete email from server:  User preference


7.  Enter the Outgoing settings for the account and tap Next.


SMTP Server:

Port:  587

Security Type:  STARTTLS (or TLS, TLS Accept All Certificates)

Require Sign in:  Check the box

User Name:  email address

Password:  email password


8.  Review the account settings, make any changes and tap Next.


9.  Provide an optional account name if desired and tap Done.
