How to Manually Upgrade SharePoint on an E Plan

 
 
 
 
 
1.  Login to the Microsoft Online Portal (MOP) as a global administrator.

2.  Select the Admin drop down, then select SharePoint.




3.  On the SharePoint admin center site collections page, select the checkbox on the row of the site collection to be upgraded.  (Note that only one site collection may be selected at a time.)




4.  On the Site Collections menu at the top of the screen, select Upgrade, then Site collection upgrade settings.




5.  In the site collection upgrade settings window, select Link to upgrade page.




6.  On the Site Collection Upgrade page, select the Upgrade this Site Collection button and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the upgrade.  (Note that the upgrade should take roughly 10 minutes or less.)



7.  MySites should upgrade automatically to the latest SharePoint.  If the user still taken to the legacy interface, please click on the Start Now link located on the banner at the top of the screen.  Then select the Upgrade this Site Collection button and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the upgrade.  (Note that the upgrade should take roughly 10 minutes or less.)

 

 
8.  To upgrade additional site collections, perform Step 3 through Step 7 until finished.
