Technology and hardware for mobile devices has far surpassed the needed software systems to accomplish the demands of mobile users. ActiveSync is a mobile data synchronization application that was developed by Microsoft. It was originally released in 1996. ActiveSync allows a mobile device to be synchronized with a desktop PC or a server running a compatible software product including Microsoft Exchange Server.
Currently, there is NO Exchange Public Folder sync support natively within ActiveSync, desktop or Exchange ActiveSync (EAS). You must download a third-party application to solve this problem. To locate one of the third-party applications, follow the below steps.
• Apple iPhone - Launch the Apple App Store and enter the following keywords: Public Folders. From here, select (download) that App that meets your mobile needs.
• Android devices - Open your favorite search engine and enter the following keywords: View Public Folders Android. From here, select (download) that App that meets your mobile needs.
NOTE: Trial the third-party app first. Most of these are view only and will not synchronize from the mobile device to the Exchange server.
