Skype for Business Capturing Example

This article provides a brief overview of what is captured in Skype for Business Archiving.

Available Content for Capture

The content that Zix captures includes the following:

  • Conversations are messages between two users

    • Users within a conversation may be two Skype for Business users from the same Office 365 server instance or from different Office 365 server instances

    • No attachments are available for capture within a conversation. Conversation user attachments are downloaded locally, not to Office 365.

  • Conferences are messages between three or more users

    • Users within a conference may be three or more users from a Skype for Business Office 365 server instance.

    • Attachments are available for capture within a conference. Conference user attachments are downloaded to Office 365.

  • Attachments such as images or documents are only captured from Conference message types.

The different types of posts have the following details in the subject line and message headers.

Conversation -- Subject line:  “Skype for Business Conversation between [user1] and [user2]”
